“Theatre Under the Stars has been a time-honoured tradition in Stanley Park for the past 80 years. We set up a temporary site at Malkin Bowl each summer and entertain over 40,000 patrons each year. Our set up is large, and we have hundreds of thousands of dollars in equipment and supplies out around our outdoor venue. For the past 9 seasons (since 2011), we have contracted Falcon Security to provide their services for us with overnight guards. Working with Falcon has been such a treat. Not only have they provided safety for our assets, but they have done so with impeccable reliability and flexibility. If times need to be adjusted slightly, the answer is always ‘yes’, even if it’s a last minute change. The guards on site keep detailed records, by the hour, of their night and can be quite resourceful when it comes to adapting to the environment. As you can imagine, they have to deal with weather, wildlife, vagrants wandering Stanley Park and thieves. As an example, on of the guards had to work overnight in our venue in the dark, prior to lighting being installed. She set up a ‘trap’ on the fence line with small pieces of wood leaning against the gate, to let her know if anyone was trying to sneak in or opened the gate at all. For a non-profit organization such as ourselves, Falcon provides these services at extremely manageable rates with the reliability that we need.
